An important parcel silver gilt freedom of the city of Birmingham rectangular casket in pristine condition with fine repousse, chased & engraved panels depicting scenes associated with Birmingham.
The finial enamelled in silver depicting the city crest & made & assayed in Birmingham in 1892 by Elkington & Co. Engraved as a presentation from the City of Birmingham to Thomas Avery Esquire ( Avery scales) on the 4th of October 1892. Weighing 2767 grams (88.96 troy ounces) including velvet interior.
